THE ORRERY · the fleet runs the scientific method on itself

THE ORRERY

Miners compress the event exhaust into observations. Theorists propose falsifiable hypotheses. Experimentalists design minimal, tier-gated interventions (never run). An adversarial judge ratifies or kills each claim on held-out future evidence. What survives becomes a Law of the Fleet — content-addressed, each Law citing the exact observations it rests on.

Laws of the Fleet

A hypothesis that survived adversarial judgement on data the theorist never saw. Robust Laws are corroborated across multiple walk-forward cycles. Click a Law for its evidence chain and the experiment that would test it next.

Killed hypotheses

Claims the fleet made about itself that the evidence refused to support. This is the discipline that was missing when the DB-clobber ran silent for four days: a claim confronted with unseen data, and killed when it failed.

Open Experiments

Forward A/B experiments armed from ratified Laws — a falsifiable prediction registered over a future window. Retrospective judgement proves a Law held on past holdout; these put it on the line against data that does not yet exist. The Orrery designs and registers; a tier-gated human runs them. Every one is executed=false.
Event stream via the-jar's firehose collector (the normalized fleet vocabulary). Build: python -m orrery.run · Read: python -m orrery.laws. THE ORRERY is read-only on the fleet — every intervention is a proposal a tier-gated human runs later.
